Easter

I decorated Jensen's Easter basket to match Adam and mine.  I got a basket from Hobby Lobby and strung the ribbon through.  Now he will have it his whole life.

Maria's Visit

Maria came at a critical time - when Adam was out of town for a field trip.  It was amazing to have her help.  Love you!

Time with his Daddy

Newborn Photos

After a week, we got his newborn photos done (thanks to Kristin Tate, at Tate Designs Photography!)

First days home

His first few days spent home were ones that are a blur to me.  Eating, sleeping, changing diapers is all I can remember doing.  Very tiring days, and trying to recover from having a baby is no small feat.

I can't get this one to rotate, whoops

Hanging outside in the nice weather

It's about time!

Whew, it has been a crazy few weeks since I have had....a baby!  That's right, my absence was because Jensen Christopher was born March 16th, 2014 at 11:15 am.  He was 7 lbs, 9 oz and 20 inches long.

Whirlwind of a night with him - my water broke at 10:30 the night before, and before you know it, he arrived the next morning!

Checking in at triage

He arrived!

38 week bump

38 weeks!  Baby is the size of a watermelon.

How far along? 38 Weeks, and 1 day
Maternity clothes? non maternity.  I gave away my work pants to a girl who is newly pregnant, and I am wearing normal people clothes - except they are "maxi".  I have maxi skirts and a maxi dress for work, and then just for shirts I bought larger size normal t-shirts from Target.  I couldn't stand the elastic waist any longer on the maternity pants.
Stretch marks? No
Exercise this week? Zumba was cancelled for the past week :(  I have been doing lots of walking to get things moving though.
Sleep: Not so good, and back to peeing every 2 hours.
Best moment this week: Finally finishing all the baby laundry for good.
Miss Anything? I miss my stomach not looking so swollen.  He has no more room!
Movement: Movements hurt no and he is very active around 9 am, 3 pm, and 9 pm.
Food cravings: Water
Anything making you queasy or sick: No
Labor Signs: contractions have begun (just irregular random ones), and I can tell he is very low.
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? off.  I don't want to risk them getting stuck.  My fluid retention now is insane.  I have cankles, I swear.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Back to happy, which I'm sure Adam appreciates.
Weekly Wisdom: I have no wisdom.  I have pregnancy brain.
Looking forward to: What may be my last week of work???  We shall see!

Baby Showers!

I had a couple of showers recently.  Check out the pics!

Zumba shower!

Shower with my girls! (amazing blanket from Chelsey - look for it in newborn photos!!!)

35 Week bump!

How far along? 35 Weeks, and 3 days
Total weight gain/loss: Plus 30
Maternity clothes? Swapping in between maternity and non-maternity clothes still (SCORE!).
Stretch marks? No
Exercise this week? Zumba class and instead of the treadmill, I prefer to walk to mall/stores
Sleep: Not so good
Best moment this week: Baby shower with my girls at the tea room!
Miss Anything? Sleep without looking like a beached whale when I change sides
Movement: Movements hurt now.  There is just no more room.
Food cravings: None.  Everything gives me heartburn
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not recently
Labor Signs: Braxton Hicks
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On, but the swelling has begun.  I am going to ask my doctor about all the water I have begun to retain, because it sucks when first thing in the morning, I cannot put on my shoes (except sandals) because they don't fit.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Moody now, sheesh
Weekly Wisdom: Nap often on weekends, because you certainly won't sleep well at night
Looking forward to: My appointment tomorrow

Nursery!

The nursery is almost finished!  I have a mirror that I am tiling, and so will hang that above the dresser once the glue dries.  But check it out!

I got some prints and framed them

I put the prints above the crib (also, I made that blanket)

Mobile above the glider (I made that too)

Changing table/dresser.  I put his onesies and sleepers in the dresser drawers, as well as blankets and diapers/bibs.  I tiled the mirror with tiles from Home Depot and liquid nails.

Closet!  I hung up bigger size clothes and "outfits".

Weekly Wisdom: Get some comfy workout gear
Looking forward to: My shower!

Nursery Crafts - blanket and mobile

I like to be crafty, so here is what I've made!  A blanket for our little guy, and a mobile-decoration to hang above our glider/ottoman (not the crib!).

I was looking for a blanket for a long time, and never found one I liked.  So, we went to JoAnns (where some lady thought Adam and I were 18 and pregnant and gave us lots of dirty looks), and got some fleece.  Easy peasy knotted blanket for our Little Bear.

Here is the blanket with our little smurflet (love!)

One side was the Bear

The other side is navy blue

I also crafted a mobile for above our glider/ottoman for rocking time.  I thought it would be a nice thing to look at during rocking or feedings.  I need to add the white trim around the wooden rings still, but it's almost finished.

Baby Shower/Gender Reveal

We had the first of our baby shower's back home with friends and family.  It was super cute, with the Blue or Pink theme that Maria did.  Everything was super crafty, and she did a great job.  We had a juice/mimosa bar and lots of yummy brunch foods.  Yay Maria!!!

Pink or Blue drinks!

The delicious reveal cake

It's a boy!
